Former Arsenal and Everton striker Francis Jeffers has insisted that he still has plenty to give as a professional footballer.
The 32-year-old's career had stalled somewhat following a spate of injuries and moves to Scotland, Malta and Australia.
However, he returned to England earlier this month with Accrington Stanley and having scored his first goals for the club last night, the centre-forward expressed his determination to prove that he is still capable of producing the goods.
"I was looking for a club for a few months and people thought I was washed up. I don't hide away from that. People thought I was finished, but I've got loads left to offer," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"Without naming names, a lot of people that believed in me at one time have lost a bit of that belief. Leam (Richardson, Accrington manager) has given me the opportunity and I want to repay him because a lot of people have written me off."
Jeffers has made one appearance for England at senior level.
