Ian Dunbavin's shoulder injury could end season

Dunbavin injury could end season

Accrington Stanley have confirmed that Ian Dunbavin may miss the rest of the season after injuring his shoulder against Rotherham during the week.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper missed yesterday's FA Cup tie against Oxford United because of the injury.

Stanley boss Leam Richardson told the club's website: "Bavs has been carrying a slight injury in the last few weeks and he got severely knocked on it on Tuesday night against Rotherham.

"He had a scan and the results came through as him having torn ligaments and tendons in his shoulder. I think that potentially he could be out for the season.

"While the transfer window is closed I think you can only renew the seven days and then in January we'll look to do what we can to bring someone in."

Richardson has brought in Paul Rachubka from Leeds on an emergency loan.
