AC Milan have confirmed that midfielder Mathieu Flamini will remain with the club for another season.
Flamini's contract was set to run out next month and the France international was expected to leave the club, being linked with potential moves to Napoli or Malaga.
However, he has reached an agreement with Milan to stay at the club, reportedly taking a significant pay-cut to do so.
A statement from AC Milan read: "Mathieu Flamini, Rossonero since 2008 and also next season."
Flamini, 28, has made 100 appearances in all competitions since joining Milan four years ago but was dogged by injuries last season, only playing twice in the whole campaign.
