James Wade surrenders as Phil Taylor powers into final

Phil Taylor brushes aside the subdued challenge of James Wade to reach the final of this year's World Grand Prix in Dublin.

Phil Taylor has brushed aside the subdued challenge of James Wade to reach the final of this year's World Grand Prix in Dublin.

'The Power' needed just over an hour to defeat 'The Machine' by five sets to one and book his place in Sunday's showpiece, where he will meet Dave Chisnall.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Taylor admitted that he had expected Wade to put up more resistance.

"I feel good," said Taylor. "But James didn't click. He was gone. It's the first time I've every seen him gone. He told me afterwards that he just gave up."

Wade has now failed to beat Taylor in his last 18 matches against the world number one.
