Michael van Gerwen continues unbeaten start in Premier League

Michael van Gerwen has maintained his two-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table with a 7-2 triumph over Raymond van Barneveld.

The world number one missed double 12 for a nine-darter during the early stages in Dublin, but an average of 108.71 was enough to easily see off his Dutch compatriot.

Gary Anderson remains in second place after a 7-4 victory over Stephen Bunting, while Dave Chisnall continued his impressive form in the event in 2015 with a 7-2 win against Adrian Lewis.

Phil Taylor completes the top four after week eight after seeing off the challenge of Kim Huybrechts with a 7-4 win, a result which eliminates the Belgian from the tournament.

The other result of the evening saw James Wade capitalise on a disappointing display from Peter Wright to run out a 7-3 victor.
