Michael van Gerwen has continued his impressive form in televised events with victory at the Players Championship Finals.
After thrashing Daryl Gurney in the last four, the world number one faced Adrian Lewis in the final and a 3-2 lead had been established by the end of the first session.
Van Gerwen threatened to run away from the Stoke-on-Trent thrower, who dropped just one leg in his semi-final success against Mensur Suljovic, but Lewis hit back to get back to 5-4.
However, Van Gerwen upped the ante during the second half of the contest, moving into a 10-5 lead in the best-of-21 showdown, but Lewis remained in the match with a gutsy 147 checkout.
Van Gerwen would seal the triumph in the next leg, though, to claim his fourth successive title in televised events.
