Michael Smith, Vincent van der Voort, Raymond van Barneveld through

Raymond Barneveld comes through a pulsating second-round contest against Jamie Caven at the PDC World Championship by winning a deciding set 3-1.

Former champion Raymond van Barneveld almost suffered a shock second-round exit to Jamie Caven at the PDC World Championship this afternoon.

The 2007 champion came through 4-3 by winning the deciding set 3-1 and finishing with a bullseye at Alexandra Palace to set up a third-round meeting with two-time champion Adrian Lewis.

In the day's first contest, Michael Smith fought back from 2-0 down to beat Brendan Dolan 4-2. He will meet either James Wade or Stephen Bunting in the last 16.

Vincent van der Voort became the second Dutchman to progress on day nine of the tournament with a convincing 4-0 win over Max Hopp.

Hopp didn't win a leg until the first one in the fourth set, and that would be his only success as Van der Voort soon regained control. Dean Winstanley awaits in round three for the Dutch Destroyer.
