Pipe beats wasteful Caven

Justin Pipe has progressed to the last eight of the Players Championship Finals by beating Jamie Caven 9-4 in Minehead.

Caven, who averaged 94.6, outscored Pipe on the trebles, hitting four 180s and 13 140s.

However, the Derby thrower was let down by his finishing, missing 26 darts at doubles.

Pipe, who averaged 89.7 and had a 30% success rate on doubles, will play either Jelle Klaasen or Gary Anderson in the quarter-finals tomorrow.
