Adrian Lewis bows out of World Grand Prix

A below-par Adrian Lewis loses 3-0 to Mark Webster in the second round of the World Grand Prix, but defending champion Michael van Gerwen progresses in Dublin.

Mark Webster has eased past Adrian Lewis to reach the World Grand Prix quarter-finals as the shocks continue in Dublin.

On Monday night, both Phil Taylor and James Wade were eliminated from the tournament, and 24 hours later, Lewis headed towards the exit door as Webster dropped just two legs on the way to a 3-0 success.

Dave Chisnall, a finalist in 2013, is also out after suffering a 3-2 defeat to Jelle Klaasen, who produced an inspired display on his doubles to move through to a last-eight showdown with Webster.

However, defending champion Michael van Gerwen successfully negotiated his last-16 clash with Kim Huybrechts, rallying from a one-set deficit to beat the Belgian by a 3-1 scoreline.

He will now face Jamie Lewis, who fought his way back from 2-0 down to defeat Michael Smith in a last-leg shootout - the second sudden-death decider he had won in 48 hours after beating William O'Connor in the same fashion on Sunday.
