James Wade: 'I've started to enjoy darts again'

James Wade reveals that his impressive performances over the past three months have been down to him regaining his passion for the sport.

James Wade has revealed that he has "fallen back in love" with darts, which has resulted in some of his best form since 2013.

In July, Wade followed up his Masters win by reaching the final of the World Matchplay before losing to Michael van Gerwen, and the left-hander is hopeful that he can continue his recent displays at the World Grand Prix, which begins on Sunday.

The 32-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I don't want to just throw myself into the game 100%, because if I do that with something then I fall out of love with it. I've just got to keep carrying on as I am, do a bit more here and there, and at the moment it seems to be working.

"The last year I really started to enjoy the game again. Before I wasn't for years and life is easier if you're doing something that you enjoy. I'm lucky I have a second chance at it and I've fallen in love with the game again."

Wade has been drawn to face Mensur Suljovic in the opening round in Dublin.
