Phil Taylor, James Wade through at European Championship

Phil Taylor has progressed through to the second round of the European Championship with a 6-3 victory over Vincent van der Voort.

The 16-time world champion eased into a 3-0 advantage before being pegged back by the Dutchman.

However, he reestablished control to secure a comfortable triumph, and he was joined in the next round by James Wade, who had little trouble in recording a 6-2 win over Mark Webster.

Defending champion Simon Whitlock overcame Kim Huybrechts 6-4 in a thrilling contest, while Raymond van Barneveld lost just a single leg on the way to beating Tomas Seyler.

Jamie Caven whitewashed Dave Chisnall, while there were also wins for Ronny Huybrechts, Colin Lloyd and Robert Thornton.
