Phil Taylor: 'I can win 16th world title'

Phil Taylor insists that he is capable of winning his 16th world title as the PDC World Championship begins on Friday night.

Number one seed Phil Taylor has revealed that he is "feeling brilliant" as he looks to capture a 16th world title.

The 52-year-old has seen his dominance in the sport challenged this year with Robert Thornton, Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld all picking up major titles, but Taylor has warned that he is practising better than ever.

Taylor told BBC Sport: "I am feeling brilliant and I can win a 16th title without a shadow of a doubt.

"I have probably been playing on the practice board better than I have before. If I can take that form onto the stage, then I know I will be up there."

The tournament starts at the Alexandra Palace on Friday night.
