Phil Taylor "gutted" following draw against Peter Wright

Six-time world champion Phil Taylor admits that he is "gutted" following his draw against Peter Wright in the Darts Premier League.

Phil Taylor has admitted that he was left feeling "gutted" following his dramatic 6-6 draw against Peter Wright in the Darts Premier League.

The six-time world champion faced Wright in the knowledge that a victory would be enough to secure his place in the playoffs, and had a dart in the deciding leg to claim victory.

Taylor failed to find the target, however, paving the way for Wright to snatch a draw which sets up a tense showdown in Brighton next week.

"I was gutted, I had my chances and I missed a lot of doubles there," the 53-year-old told Sky Sports News. "But I'm happy to still be in there.

"I'll be trying to win, a draw might get me through, but it's going to be a twitchy, twitchy time next week. There's three of us fighting for two spaces, it's brilliant really."

Elsewhere, Raymond van Barneveld fell to a 7-4 defeat at the hands of fellow Dutchman Michael van Gerwen.
