Gerwyn Price collects his second Premier League victory of the 2023 edition by seeing off Chris Dobey in the Week Seven final in Nottingham.

Gerwyn Price has boosted his chances of qualifying for the Premier League playoffs with victory on Week Seven in Nottingham.

With Michael van Gerwen holding a commanding advantage at the top of the standings, the rest of the field are effectively playing for second, third and fourth.

Price went into Thursday's action sitting in fourth, just one point above fifth, but the Welshman ended the night in second and with a four-point cushion.

The former world number one won each of his matches by a 6-4 scoreline, beating Jonny Clayton and Dimitri van den Bergh before overcoming Chris Dobey in the final.

Price had trailed during the early stages of the showpiece encounter until he rallied and ended the contest with a 101.04 average.

Up until the final, Dobey has been the undisputed player of the evening after defeating Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen, the latter contest by a 6-0 scoreline.

Despite averaging over 100, Van Gerwen found himself on the receiving end of just the 14th whitewash in the history of the tournament.

After five quarter-final exits in succession, Dobey is back into contention for the top four, now trailing Nathan Aspinall by just three points.

Peter Wright remains cut adrift at the bottom of the table after losing 6-1 to Van Gerwen in his opening match of the evening.
