Kim Huybrechts out of Players Championship Finals

Daryl Gurney has progressed through to the second round of the Players Championship Finals with a surprise 6-2 win against Kim Huybrechts.

The Northern Irishman dropped the opening leg to the 2012 runner-up, but he stormed back to book his place in the next round, where he will face either Phil Taylor or Gary Anderson.

Grand Slam of Darts semi-finalist Michael Smith is through with a 6-3 victory against Jamie Caven, with Simon Whitlock joining him in the last 16 after beating Brendan Dolan by a 6-2 scoreline.

However, Terry Jenkins has been eliminated after losing 6-3 to former Lakeside runner-up Alan Norris in a game dominated by missed doubles.

Jelle Klaasen and Stephen Bunting have both bowed out of the tournament after suffering 6-4 defeats to Gerwyn Price and Benito van de Pas respectively.

Mensur Suljovic has continued his recent good form in televised events with a 6-1 success against Mervyn King, while Vincent van der Voort made equally light work of Justin Pipe.
