Martin Fitzmaurice is reportedly facing the sack from his role as MC at darts championships after allegedly making racist jokes at an event last weekend.
Fitzmaurice, who is famous for his 'Let's Play Darts' catchphrase made the remarks at the British International Championships in Scotland, which were streamed live on the organisation's website.
Fitzmaurice's comments have since been linked on social media sites, with the British Darts Organisation saying that they are launching an investigation into the alleged slurs.
The British Darts Organisation's spokesman Robert Holmes apologised for the incident and said that a "full enquiry" was being held.
"The BDO apologises unreservedly for the fact that these racially offensive comments were made at the British Internationals in Scotland and broadcast on the internet," he said in a statement on their official website.
"Although Martin Fitzmaurice was not involved as a BDO official, the BDO wishes to state that it does not tolerate racism in any shape or form, and a full enquiry is already taking place into this unfortunate incident."
The three-day event took place in Fife.
