Gary Anderson, Michael van Gerwen to play qualifiers in World Championship draw

Defending world champion Gary Anderson has been drawn to face a qualifier in the first round of the 2016 PDC World Championship.

The Scot will play either Denmark's Per Laursen or the runner-up of the PDPA qualifier which is taking place on Monday.

World number one Michael van Gerwen will play Thailand's Thanawat Gaweenuntawong or Rene Eidams of Germany, while 16-time world champion Phil Taylor will go up against Keita Ono or Alex Tagarao.

The tie of the last 64 sees Peter Wright play former world youth champion Keegan Brown, with Adrian Lewis and Robert Thornton, the fifth and sixth seeds respectively, facing former Lakeside players Jan Dekker and Alan Norris.

Five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld has been drawn to meet Dutch compatriot Dirk van Duijvenbode.
