Annemiek van Vleuten provides update on condition after Rio crash

Dutch cyclist Annemiek van Vleuten has posted an update on her condition following her horror crash during the women's road race at the Olympic Games.

Van Vleuten was leading the way in Rio heading into the final descent, but saw her dreams of gold ended dramatically when she crashed out of the race.

The 33-year-old was placed in intensive care with concussion and three cracks in her spine, but she has now provided a positive update.

Van Vleuten's compatriot Anna van der Breggen eventually won gold during Sunday's race.
