West Indies tour match abandoned

Touring West Indies have had their first tour match of England against Sussex abandoned because of the wet weather.

Not much play had been possible over the previous two days because of the conditions.

When the sides were permitted to take the field, the tourists were able to produce 90 runs for the expense of three wickets.

However, the umpires have decided that no more play was possible and have called the match a draw.

The Windies will take on England in a three-match Test series later this month.
