Ryan Hinds charged with rape

West Indies cricketer Ryan Hinds has been charged with rape.

The 31-year-old was released on bail after appearing before a magistrates court in Bridgetown, accused of raping a 28-year-old woman last month.

The all-rounder was granted 7,500 Barabdos dollars bail with a surety and was also ordered to surrender his passport, according to Mid-Day.

Hinds is also expected to report to the Holetown Police Station once per week as the other condition of his bail and will reappear in court on July 5.

In a reasonably successful international career, Hinds scored 505 Test and 101 ODI runs. His last Test match for the national team was in 2009 against Bangladesh.
