Jacques Kallis takes 4-15 as South Africa restrict Zimbabwe to 93-8 from their 20 overs, leaving the minnows on the verge of World Cup elimination.

Zimbabwe look poised to exit the Twenty20 World Cup at the group stages after posting just 93 against South Africa in Hambantota this evening.

The Proteas inserted Zimbabwe after winning the toss and wasted little time in exposing their opponents' fragile batting lineup.

Morne Morkel dismissed Vusi Sibanda and Brendan Taylor early on, before his brother Albi Morkel had opener Hamilton Masakadza caught in the outfield, leaving Zimbabwe 15-3.

The ship was steadied somewhat by a partnership between Craig Ervine and Stuart Matsikenyeri, before two wickets in two balls from Jacques Kallis put South Africa firmly in control again.

Ervine was the mainstay of the innings but wickets continued to fall regularly at the other end as Kallis finished with figures of 4-15.

When Ervine was dismissed for 37 from 40 balls, Zimbabwe's hopes of a competitive score vanished and they eventually limped to 93-8 at the end of their allotted overs.
