Nasser Hussain bemoans "sad day" for cricket

Former England captain Nasser Hussain believes that "it's quite a sad day for cricket" after three Pakistani cricketers were all found guilty of conspiracy to cheat and conspiracy to obtain and accept corrupt payments earlier today.

Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir will all attend Southwark Crown Court tomorrow morning to learn their punishment.

Despite being disappointed with the news, Hussain has suggested that it may not be a bad thing for the sport.

"It's not something I'd cheer about," he told Sky Sports News. "It's probably a day cricket needed and it's a message to the ICC that we're going to be strong with match-fixers and cheaters, whether it's one no-ball, two no-balls or whatever, it just should not happen."

The trio could be sentenced to a maximum of nine years' imprisonment.
