Akmal summoned by Pakistan committee

Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has been summoned by a Pakistani cricket committee as part of his continued battle to clear his name after the Pakistan spot-fixing scandal.

Akmal has been included in the preliminary 30-man squad for the autumn's Twenty20 World Cup but his place is subject to clearance by the committee, who have now asked the 30-year-old to submit material.

"Kamran is among the 30 probables for the World Twenty20 but his inclusion in the final team is subject to clearance from the integrity committee," chief selector Iqbal Qasim is quoted as saying by AFP.

PCB spokesman Nadeem Sarwar said: "Kamran has been summoned by the committee and he has been asked to submit some material."

Akmal has not played for Pakistan since the 2011 World Cup.
