Riaz praises "team effort"

Wahab Riaz has said that Pakistan needed a "team effort" to secure a closely-fought 20-run win over Zimbabwe at the World Cup this morning.

Riaz hit an unbeaten 54 before taking four wickets for 45 runs with the ball to help Pakistan to their first win of the tournament.

Speaking on the field at the end of the match, the 29-year-old said: "When I went into bat, the discussion was to play all 50 overs and if we had to take chances we would do so in the last three or four overs.

"The whole team really worked hard and believed in me and my batting. At the start I was not enjoying it, the ball was not coming onto the bat. But it was a team effort and in the end we won. We always expected to take wickets as soon as possible."

The win leaves Pakistan sixth in the Pool B table.
