England lose by eight wickets in Colombo to fall 2-0 behind in their seven-match one-day international series against Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka have beaten England by eight wickets this morning in the second one-day international between the two sides in Colombo.

Following a rain delay, touring England batted first, but they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Having scored a century during the first match of the series on Wednesday, opener Moeen Ali could only muster two runs this time around before he was bowled by Tillakaratne Dilshan, while skipper Alastair Cook contributed 22.

England's resistance was put up by Ravi Bopara (51) and Joe Root (42), but Cook's men were eventually dismissed for 185 with 43 overs having been bowled.

In reply, Dilshan (26) and Kusal Perera (9) were dismissed early on, but Kumar Sangakkara (67) and Mahela Jayawardene (77) remained at the crease as Sri Lanka eased to their victory target with 64 balls to spare.

Hosting Sri Lanka now lead the seven-match series 2-0, with the nations due to meet for a third time on Wednesday in Hambantota.
