Andrew Strauss top scores for England as the tourists win their first warm-up match ahead of the series with Pakistan.

England have begun their preparations for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan with a win over an ICC Combined Associate and Affiliate XI in Dubai this afternoon.

The home side declared on 169-9 in the their second innings, leaving England requiring a total of 255 to claim the victory.

Captain Andrew Strauss led from the front by producing a knock of 78 runs from just 96 balls before he was caught out.

Wicket-keeper Steven Davies (36) and bowler Stuart Broad (27) were at the crease when the winning runs were struck with three wickets in hand.

The tourists have another friendly encounter on Saturday afternoon.
