England cruise to victory inside three days in their second Test against Pakistan at Headingley to level up the series at 1-1.

England have defeated Pakistan by an innings and 55 runs at Headingley to end their losing run and level the two-Test series at 1-1.

The hosts, previously winless in eight Tests, got the job done on Sunday with a couple of days to spare.

Resuming on 302-7 following a shortened second day, England lost debutant Sam Curran for 20 runs, before Jos Buttler hit 11 fours and two sixes for 80 off 101 balls.

Stuart Broad (2) and James Anderson (5) were dismissed by Faheem Ashraf and Hasan Ali respectively, as England opened up a 189-run lead.

Pakistan struggled to make up the deficit, seeing Azhar Ali go for just 11 runs to Anderson, while Haris Sohail (8) also made minimal impact.

Asad Shafiq was sent packing for five runs as the Shaheens were left on 42-3, and things got worse before they got better as Imam ul-Haq (34), Sarfraz Ahmed (8) and Shadab Khan (4) soon followed.

Dom Bess would prove to be a key player for England, ending with figures of 3-33 as Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 134, finally giving England something to cheer.
