England cruise to victory against India in their rain-affected second Test at Lord's to open up a 2-0 series lead.

England have defeated India by an innings and 159 runs in their second Test at Lord's to open up a 2-0 series lead.

The home side completed the rout on another rain-affected day by bowling out their opponents for 130 after earlier declaring on 396-7.

James Anderson took 4-23 to take his tally to nine wickets in the match, while at the same time taking him past the 100-Test wickets mark at this ground, and Stuart Broad boasted figures of 4-44.

England stretched their 250-run overnight lead to 289 before declaring early on, with Sam Curran (40) and Chris Woakes (137) walking off unbeaten.

Despite the conditions, Anderson continued his fine form with the wicket of Murali Vijay for a duck, before adding the scalp of KL Rahul for 10 soon after.

Ajinkya Rahane (13) and Cheteshwar Pujara (17) did not stick around for much longer, either, and the writing was well and truly on the wall when Virat Kohli lasted just 17 runs before being sent packing by the bowling of Broad.

It was a formality from that point on, as Dinesh Karthik went lbw for a duck, Hardik Pandya (26) fell to Woakes on review and Anderson bowled Kuldeep Yadav (0).

The 2-0 lead to take into next week's third Test at Trent Bridge was assured when Mohammad Shami was pinned in front for yet another duck and Ishant Sharma (2) was caught at leg slip.
