England have eased into the final of the ICC Champions Trophy with a seven-wicket victory over South Africa at The Oval.

The visitors were put into bat first and were bowled out for 175 runs with nearly 20 overs remaining.

The host nation then reached their target with relative ease thanks largely to an unbeaten 82 from Jonathan Trott.

Only Robin Peterson (30), Faf du Plessis (26), David Miller (56 not out) and Rory Kleinveldt (43) made double figures for the Proteas, who struggled for runs at the crease.

Dangerman Hashim Amla was bowled for one by Steven Finn, while Colin Ingram and AB de Villiers both failed to get off the mark.

Stuart Broad and James Tredwell took three wickets each, while Jimmy Anderson got in on the act with two of his own.

Despite the early dismissal of Alastair Cook for six, Trott's impressive knock did most of the damage for England.

Ian Bell (20), Joe Root (48) and Eoin Morgan (15 not out) also helped the host nation over the line.
