A knock of 82 from Ravi Bopara helped England complete a six-wicket win over Australia at the Kia Oval this afternoon.

The touring Aussies set England a total of 252 runs for victory earlier today thanks largely to the contribution of opener Shane Watson, who contributed 66 to his side's total before he was dismissed by Graeme Swann.

Australia's only other score of note came from number five batsman George Bailey, who made 65 before he was bowled by Tim Bresnan.

England's reply got off to a good start until skipper Alastair Cook was trapped lbw by Clint McKay for 18 runs.

Cook's dismissal brought Jonathan Trott to the crease, but the South African-born batsman soon joined his captain back in the pavilion when he was bowled by Watson for just 17 runs.

However, a score of 75 runs from Ian Bell, who was joined by Bopara, helped steady the England innings. Bell was eventually bowled by Aussie skipper Michael Clarke.

Eoin Morgan replaced Bell and having survived an early lbw review, he helped Bopara move England to within touching distance of victory. Essex batsman Bopara lost his wicket just two short of the required total when he was run out by Brett Lee.

It was left to Morgan to strike the winning runs as the Irish-born batsman ended unbeaten on 43.

England now lead the five-match one-day international series 2-0.
