West Indies seal Test series win over England

West Indies have confirmed victory in the third Test match against England, prevailing by 10 wickets and winning the series 1-0 in the process.

Resuming on 104-8 and with a lead of just 11 runs, England were merely fighting for pride when they returned to the crease on day four.

While Chris Woakes, Jack Leach and Saqib Mahmood took another hour out of the contest, they made only 16 runs, Woakes departing for 19 and Leach for a 55-ball four.

West Indies were left requiring 28 runs for the win, and Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell initially appeared in no rush to get their team over the line.

Nevertheless, four boundaries soon came in rapid fashion, Brathwaite ending unbeaten on 20 from 21 balls and Campbell contributing six from eight deliveries.

With England now bottom of the ICC World Test Championship by a considerable margin, there will again be question marks over the long-term future of Joe Root, as well as the surprise omissions of Stuart Broad and James Anderson from this series.
