Daniel Vettori impressed by England hopefuls

Daniel Vettori claims that he has been impressed by England's young spinners after joining them for a training camp.

Daniel Vettori has admitted that he has been impressed by the spinners taking part in the England Performance Programme.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) recruited Vettori to work with bowlers in the hope of aiding their development and preparing them for international cricket.

Stephen Parry has caught the eye of the former New Zealand spinner after helping England to a 3-0 Twenty20 series win over Pakistan in the UAE.

"To work with them intimately has been good, I've been really impressed," Vettori told Sky Sports News.

"My forte is finger spin and the way the game is going with finger spinning becoming more prevalent because of the law changes around the degree in people's arms, there's guys out there who have got a real chance of kicking on and performing for England.

"I saw Stephen Parry do well in the T20s and he has impressed in the training I've seen so far."

Zafar Ansari, Danny Briggs and Tom Westley are the other spinners working with Vettori in Dubai.
