Vaughan questions Dernbach's inclusion

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has questioned the reasons as to why Jade Dernbach is part of the team's bowling attack at one-day international level.

Twenty-seven-year-old Dernbach has struggled to take wickets on a consistent basis since he was handed his debut against Sri Lanka in 2011, with his latest effort against New Zealand seeing him end his 10 overs with figures of 0-87.

Having watched that performance, Vaughan took to Twitter to raise concerns over the Surrey bowler's continued inclusion over the 50-over format of the game.

"Dernbach career economy rate is 6.24. He doesn't take enough wickets to justify going for that amount of runs #fact," he wrote.

Dernbach has taken 31 wickets from 23 outings in ODI fixtures.
