Jonathan Trott making "good progress" ahead of new season

Jonathan Trott will be ready for the start of the County Championship season, according to the batsman's representatives.

Jonathan Trott has been making "good progress" since returning home from England's tour of Australia, the batsman's representatives have confirmed.

The 32-year-old's England future was left in doubt after his exit from the Ashes series but he is now on course to be ready for the start of the County Championship season with Warwickshire.

"Since Jonathan returned from Australia, his overriding aim was to return to play for Warwickshire at the start of the season," a statement from Eleven 01 Management, Trott's representatives, revealed.

"He continues to make good progress and is on schedule to return for the Bears as intended. At no stage was there any intention for Jonathan to join Warwickshire on their pre-season tour of Barbados and therefore he was never omitted from the trip."

Trott is expected to meet with England officials later this week to discuss his international future.
