Stuart Broad nearing return

Bowler Stuart Broad is expected to make his return from a calf injury during Nottinghamshire's LV County Championship match against Lancashire next week.

Broad has not featured on the cricket field since suffering the complaint during England's first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle last month.

Provided the 25-year-old does not suffer a setback, he is expected to be named in the England squad that is due to take on the West Indies in May.

The calf problem forced Broad to withdraw from the ongoing Indian Premier League.
