Ben Stokes has admitted that he is becoming impatient as he waits to be given the green light to make his return from a self-inflicted wrist injury.
The England all-rounder required surgery after injuring his wrist by punching a locker following one of his dismissals during the tour of the West Indies in February, and he claims that he must hit top form immediately upon his return to make sure he is selected for the Test series with Sri Lanka.
"I find it quite tough watching," Stokes told the Daily Mail. "I'm champing at the bit to get back out there.
"Doing this was no-one else's fault. It was an act of stupidity.
"When I do get on the pitch I have to make sure I'm getting hundreds and taking wickets."
Neither Durham nor England have set a date for the all-rounder's return to cricket.
