Kevin Pietersen's wife slams accusations he 'squared up' to Alastair Cook

Kevin Pietersen's wife Jessica Taylor slams accusations that the batsman 'squared up' to England captain Alastair Cook.

Kevin Pietersen's wife Jessica Taylor has taken to Twitter to refute accusations that her husband 'squared up' to England captain Alastair Cook in a confrontation.

The England and Wales Cricket Board announced yesterday that the batsman has been dropped from the ICC World Twenty20 and upcoming Caribbean tour.

Accusations have been made claiming that Pietersen had an angry confrontation with Cook and has been involved in a number of 'off-field antics'.

His wife, who is a member of pop band Liberty X, tweeted: "Dominic Cork - there was no 'squaring up' to Alastair Cook or 'off-field antics' in Australia - you are lying, plain & simple.

"Regurgitating rumour & spinning it as fact is not what I'd call responsible journalism. The public deserve so much better - the truth."

Pietersen, who has ended his England career as their leading run scorer in all formats, competed in 104 Test matches, 136 one-day internationals and 37 Twenty20 internationals.
