England, West Indies to pay respect to Tom Maynard with minute's silence

Oval to hold minute's silence for Maynard

The second one-day international between England and the West Indies will commence with a mark of respect for former Surrey batsman Tom Maynard.

The two sides will join together with the crowd at The Oval today to hold a minute's silence for Maynard, who died in the early hours of Monday morning at the age of 23.

Maynard, who was the son of former England and Glamorgan batsman Matthew, was hit by a tube on the London Underground's District Line and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, Warwickshire all-rounder Chris Woakes was called into the England squad for the remainder of the side's one-day series against the West Indies after Jade Dernbach was given compassionate leave following the death of his teammate.
