Graham Onions says that he doesn't feel like a "forgotten man" following 14 months on the sidelines due to a back injury.

Graham Onions has admitted that he wants to make his mark on the England squad following a long-term absence through injury.

The 29-year-old quick bowler made an impact in the national side when he made his debut against the West Indies following a successful Ashes series in 2009.

While an encouraging term in the England team seemed expected, the Durham cricketer was hit with a back injury, resulting in a 14-month layoff.

"I didn't necessarily lose my place due to loss of form, just because of injury," The Express quotes Onions as saying. "There were certainly times I felt sorry for myself but you just grit your teeth and get on with it and remember the good times.

"I'm desperate to get back into that England side and I don't feel I'm a forgotten man anymore."

Onions is expected to be included in the national side's team to face Pakistan in next month's Test series in Dubai.
