Eoin Morgan has announced that he will not be part of the Indian Premier League auction on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old was one of 10 England players included in the auction before the England and Wales Cricket Board's decision to axe Kevin Pietersen.
Suggestions that Morgan will replace Pietersen in the England order are expected to intensify after the batsman took to Twitter to confirm that he will not be part of the IPL.
"I would like to thank @IPL for accepting my request to withdraw from this years auction. Good luck with the tournament."
If Morgan had been picked up by a franchise, then the cricketer would have been absent for the start of the English season.
