Moeen Ali 'looking to add variety'

Moeen Ali believes that he can add variety to the England after his call-up for their winter tour of the Caribbean and the World Twenty20 tournament.

Moeen Ali is looking forward to making his England debut after being selected for the World Twenty20 squad and to tour the West Indies this winter.

The 26-year-old all-rounder was called by James Whittaker and has since struggled to hide his delight, but is keen to make a positive impact.

He told ECB.co.uk: "Obviously you cannot describe how you feel. It was a good feeling and I cannot wait to get out there.

"I think I can add a bit of variety; a bit of batting, bowling and fielding. I do all three dimensions of the game.

"We obviously want success as a team at the World Cup. In the West Indies, I just want to get used to the setup and play a few games."

England travel to Caribbean later this month.
