Gary Kirsten not interested in becoming England coach

Gary Kirsten reveals that he has no interest in becoming England's new team director.

Gary Kirsten has ruled himself out of the running to become the new England team director.

The former South Africa coach has been one of the men linked with the role since Andy Flower's resignation but insists that he is not ready to return to the international cricket scene.

"I would regard any job like that as a privilege," Kirsten told Sky Sports News. "But I gave up the Proteas job for family reasons - I want to spend more time with a young family and that certainly hasn't changed.

"I love cricket coaching, I love being with an international team. But unfortunately the demands of it don't suit where I want to be."

Kirsten took South Africa to number one in the ICC Test rankings during his time in charge of the Proteas.
