England batsman Kevin Pietersen apologises for his lack of runs during the Test series with Pakistan.

Kevin Pietersen has issued an apology to England fans for his performance during the series against Pakistan.

The batsman averaged just 11 in a three-match Test series that England lost 3-0.

"I averaged 11 in these 3 Tests.. HORROR show!!," he wrote on Twitter. "So sorry supporters!! Not good enough and I know it."

South African-born Pietersen made his England debut in July 2005.
