Mark Footitt "over the moon" after being named in England's tour of South Africa

Footitt "over the moon" with England call

Surrey seamer Mark Footitt has claimed that it is a "dream" to have been included in the England Test squad for the upcoming tour of South Africa.

The 29-year-old was named in the 16-man party after Steven Finn was ruled out as he continues to nurse a foot injury.

"I'm over the moon I've been picked," Footitt told BBC Radio 5 live. "It's every cricketer's dream to represent your country. It's a massive honour to be selected. Hopefully if I do get the nod to play in a few matches I can do my country proud."

Meanwhile, Ian Bell has been dropped from the squad after his disappointing performances against Pakistan.

The first Test will begin in Durban on Boxing Day.
