Andy Flower: Eoin Morgan needs to improve

Andy Flower says that Eoin Morgan's "tough" time against Pakistan was behind the selectors' decision to drop the England batsman.

England coach Andy Flower has stated that Eoin Morgan needs to work on his Test form in order to make a return to the national side.

The 25-year-old has been omitted from England's forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka following a "tough" contest against Pakistan.

"He's had a tough tour of the United Arab Emirates, we've been here for two months and it's been hard work for him," BBC Sport quotes Flower as saying.

"He has got some work to do I think on his Test game. That's going to be quite difficult for him considering his next cricket is going to be IPL cricket.

"He has been severely tested out there by the Pakistan spinners as have all our batsmen."

Meanwhile, spin-bowlers James Tredwell and Samit Patel have been included in the England Test squad.
