England trio to make Test debuts

Sam Robson, Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan will make their Test debuts for England in the first Test against Sri Lanka, which gets underway at Lord's today.

Head coach Peter Moores named the uncapped trio in the 12-man squad in his first Test side since returning to the England fold.

The inclusion of Robson, Ali and Jordan means that it is the first time since 1988 that three England players have made their Test debuts in the same game at Lord's.

Liam Plunkett has also been recalled to the side following a seven-year absence.

Sri Lanka have opted to bowl after winning the toss.
