England selector Geoff Miller believes that the side that defeated the West Indies are capable of earning victory over bitter rivals Australia.

England selector Geoff Miller has claimed that the decision to name an unchanged side for the one-day international series against Australia is in order to maintain their winning run.

The national side have recorded six ODI victories this year, with the latest being against the West Indies, which has prompted the selectors to pick the same side for the five-match contest against their arch rivals.

"The series win against West Indies was pleasing and we are making steady progress in one-day cricket with a sixth straight series victory on home soil," said Miller.

The series between the two sides gets underway on Friday at Lord's.
