Alastair Cook backs England's Twenty20 side to bounce back from their humiliation at the hands of India when they face the West Indies tomorrow.

England Test captain Alastair Cook has backed the Twenty20 side to bounce back from their heavy defeat to India when they face the West Indies tomorrow.

England were thrashed by 90 runs by India in their final group match, having scored just 80 - their lowest ever tally in that form of the game.

However, Cook believes that there is enough talent in captain Stuart Broad's squad to ensure that they will bounce back in style.

"The important thing is we're through the group, so there's a clean slate. They had a bad game but that can happen to anybody and I'm sure the lads will be working hard to put that right," said Cook.

"You've got to have the balance of responsibility and skill to play a big shot - that's the skill in Twenty20, staying calm when a lot of things are happening very quickly.

"I've got no worries. There's a huge amount of talent in that side and Stuart and the lads will prove what good players they are."

England are the reigning T20 world champions having won the previous tournament two years ago.
