Cook: 'Broad injury not a concern'

England captain Alastair Cook has insisted that Stuart Broad's facial injury will not affect his showing in the fifth Test against India.

The 28-year-old, who met with a specialist on Wednesday, was forced to wear a splint in practice on the eve of tomorrow's clash at The Oval after breaking his nose during England's victory at Old Trafford last week.

"I don't think it will affect his performance at all," BBC Sport quotes Cook as saying. "It is great news [Broad] has come through that blow, he likes playing in big games and this is a big game."

England currently lead the series 2-1.
