Alastair Cook left frustrated by Graeme Swann criticism

Cook angered by Swann criticism

England captain Alastair Cook has revealed his anger at the criticism aimed at him by Graeme Swann earlier this week.

Swann suggested that Cook was being stubborn by continuing to play one-day international cricket in the build-up to the World Cup next year, and those comments have left the 29-year-old disappointed with the former England spinner.

"I don't think it's that helpful, especially from a so-called friend," Cook told reporters. "He's entitled to his opinion, but it's not ideal for me, especially when you get through the summer I've had.

"I am a little bit [disappointed] because he is a good friend of mine and has been a supporter.

"It's not helpful at this time, because I am going to be captain in this World Cup."

Cook's side suffered a 133-run defeat to India in the second ODI at Cardiff on Wednesday.
